Our excitement is not just about acing the questionnaire that we were asked to fill out, it’s also about the token number we received after registering, which was 800 – meaning 799 others had already registered before us! That tells you how huge it’s going to be and we cannot wait!

India has long been declared a start up country. There are need gaps in every industry that are being addressed by energetic professionals in the most innovative of ways.

It’s important that all these minds gather under a single umbrella once in a while, inspire each other, draw from each other and understand how the impact of their work cascades into the larger picture.

The Start-Up Expo is going to bring together an ecosystem that can provide start-ups all the support they need to succeed. It’s going to be one of the biggest exhibitions in NCR to showcase start-ups from all domains.

The opportunity to scout for potential partners and networking with the best in India are obviously attraction to us, we also believe that we could talk about how we digital production outsourcing solving a lot many problems people face while achieving their organizational goals.

We help organisations remove these constraints and help them save about 20% to 40% on Digital Production costs which they can then spend in a bigger distribution of content or, it goes straight to their bottom line.

We believe that our voice is important in a conference that is sheltering all these brilliant minds because we can now tell these guys that they can decouple their production process from everything else and thus become truly strategic and solution agnostic. Our business model makes the talent that is needed available to our clients on demand so that they don’t have to worry about excessive in-house staffing or, getting tied into lengthy contracts. They can get the type of digital production that they need, when they need it.

Anindya Mukherjee – Country Head and Debjit Datta – Head of Mobile Solutions will be our representatives at the expo, and we wish them all the luck with spreading our message further. We hope that our participation in this expo is another step towards us being at the very heart of Indian start-up ecosystem.

We shall definitely keep you posted about all we do and learn at the Expo. To get regular updates, do follow us on Twitter and if you really want to follow us at every step of the way, you can stalk us as well, we don’t mind.

Durga Pujo is the biggest celebration in Bengal. Bengalis from all over the world anxiously wait for these 4 days of the year, when they can deck up in new clothes, hop from one pandal to another and gorge on mouthwatering delicacies.

To welcome the festivities, a week-long event was organized at Capital Numbers from October 12 through October 16 and October 19.

The week-long event started on Mahalaya, October 12 with an ethnic wear contest. Ladies draped in sarees, dazzled the floor, while men reflected pure ethnicity in kurta and pajama. The jury had a fun time choosing the winners – Sutapa Roy Nandi, Best Ethnic Wear Female and Sk. Ismail, Best Ethnic Wear Male.

The entire office was divided into 6 teams on Tuesday, October 13. Each of the teams decorated their respective floors based on Durga Pujo theme. Each of the floors exploded with creativity – sparkling lights, vibrant colors, a fusion of modern and age old art. The extravaganza unfolded as the jury strolled from one floor to another.

“We have a tough time choosing the winners. We debated a lot and never came to a conclusion. Then we opted voting method. Finally the floor that had the maximum number of votes from the juries, won”, added Mukul Gupta, Managing Director, Capital Numbers.

Ground floor with the theme Padma – the truth was declared winner and Second floor with the theme Chakra – the commander came 1st Runner-up.

A tech quiz was organized on Wednesday, October 14. 4 teams, each from SEO, Design, Development and Mobile took part in the quiz competition. There were several rounds ranging from pure tech questions to identifying the logos, CNites choice and finally some based on Durga Puja – the quiz was a huge fun. The development scored the highest to become winners.

Celebration in Bengal remains incomplete without writing some verses or capturing some great shots. Knowing the fact that there are several great writers, poets and photographers in CN, a writing and photography contest was organized to unleash creativity on Thursday, October 15.

“We received overwhelming participation. It was very difficult on my part to choose one from so many talented writers”, said Anindya Mukherjee, Director-Operations, Capital Numbers.

Ranita Mondal and Sourav Mondal held the winning positions for writing and photography contests respectively.

The World Environment Day is observed on June 5 every year to spread awareness on multiple environmental issues. Since June 5, 1972, when the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was formed, the day has been dedicated to promote preservation of the nature. Worldwide initiatives are taken to deal with environmental challenges like global warming, climate change, natural disasters, environmental governance and resource efficiency.

This is one planet and we must do our best bit for its well being. The theme chosen by United Nations this year to observe the day is ‘Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.’

It is observed that millions and millions of people are denied basic necessities like drinking water. We have also seen massive natural disasters like Earthquakes, Volcanic Eruptions, Tsunamis taking aways millions of lives in the past few years. Likewise we also witnessed death of several thousands due to drought and flood. The rise in mercury level each year, leading to tremendous global warming is a cause for concern.

Either we sit quietly and be a witness to the perishing world or we ACT NOW. It is our DUTY to give back to the nature when we take everything from it – the air that we breathe, the water we drink, the sun, the rain, the snow – everything that forms an indispensable part of our lives.

We need to understand that our well-being lies entirely in the well-being of the nature. A flourishing economy is directly dependent on our planet’s natural resources. United Nation states, “By 2050, if current consumption and production patterns remain the same and with a rising population expected to reach 9.6 billion, we will need three planets to sustain our ways of living and consumption.”

This is definitely a matter of concern. I, take an oath and urge everyone to take smaller steps towards preserving our environment from today. These are what we all can do:

  • Plant trees. If you don’t have a garden, use your balcony or roof.
  • Stop wasting water.
  • Store rain water for simple usage like watering plants or washing utensils.
  • During summer, keep some water in a pot and place it on the roof or open space. This would help birds to quench their thirst.
  • Minimize your carbon footprints. Delete emails you don’t need.
  • Those who drive, switch off their engine when waiting at a signal.
  • Urge everyone around you to plant trees, save water, and preserve natural resource.

But the last Sunday of November was different for a few from Capital Numbers. Around 33 people from the company participated in the charity run, organized by Airtel, named as “Run for Education”.

There were over 5000 participants who took part in this charity run of 10 KM and 5KM respectively. Each candidate had to undergo a paid registration process for participation. The entire money collected through this charity event would be utilized for the education of underprivileged children.

Capital Numbers participated in the 5KM run. T-shirts with the company logo was specially designed for the participants who choose to support the cause. At the occasion of Children’s Day, Capital Numbers shared some happy moments with a few underprivileged children of Salt Lake Sector V.

What could have been happier than breaking the monotony of daily life and living your childhood again? Chocolates and balloons were distributed as some laughter was shared with the kids.

“This was certainly a very good way to celebrate Children’s Day by sharing joy with these innocent kids. It took me to my childhood”, said Vipul Gupta, Director Finance, Capital Numbers.

Every year on November 14, Children’s Day is celebrated all over India with grandeur. This was the day when Pt. Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India was born. He was fondly called Chacha Nehru by children for his love and affection towards them.

A little over 20 kids gathered to get their share of goodies. Employees of Capital Numbers distributed chocolates and ballons and cracked some funny one-liners as the kids giggled.

“This is just the beginning. We will share joy with young kids every year on this day”, agreed Anindya Mukherjee, Director Operations, Capital Numbers.
