In the bustling healthcare industry, the client had this credentialing system with data verifying each practitioner’s qualifications. However, cracks started to appear: delayed payments from insurers, sluggish data retrieval, and security red flags as the system struggled under the weight of practitioner credentialing documents and heavy traffic.
Realizing these inefficiencies, the client sought smarter, more agile solutions. That’s where Capital Numbers stepped in. Our mission was to address the loopholes head-on with DevOps innovation, upgrades, and security.
Our priority was to supercharge the system to handle massive volumes of credentialing documents—licenses, education records, malpractice insurance, certifications, and more—at lightning speed. This meant reengineering its core to handle peak data and traffic.

Second, we had to boost the document size configuration to accommodate larger files more easily. This was a crucial move as healthcare practitioners submitted large documents related to their work and education history that the system struggled to handle.
Third, we needed to prepare the system for high-capacity workloads: faster claims processing and seamless reimbursements from insurance companies. This upgrade was essential to accelerate claims processing while maintaining system stability.

In short, it wasn’t just system upgrades with cutting-edge engines. It involved laying the groundwork for a highly secure system built to thrive under colossal traffic.
Capital Numbers rallied its top Java, Angular, and DevOps experts to tackle each bottleneck one by one. First, we optimized the system's APIs to efficiently process and retrieve massive credentialing data, including licenses, education records, malpractice insurance, and certifications. These enhancements significantly reduced response times.
We then took on the document size configuration. By expanding the size limit to 25MB, we allowed the system to accommodate the extensive files so that healthcare practitioners could submit their records, such as work and education histories, without hitting a wall.
We then bolstered the system with advanced load-balancing mechanisms and scalable infrastructure to support high-capacity workloads. This upgrade ensured stability under tremendous volumes of claims processing and insurance company reimbursements. We also added a fallback mechanism for future downtimes.
To supercharge the system further, we harnessed the power of Auto Scaling in Amazon EKS, enabling nodes in the system to scale up in sync with rising CPU demands. Complementing this with the Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA) for intelligent pod-level adjustments, we built a resilient framework that precisely navigates even the most intense traffic surges.

But our upgrades didn’t stop here. Realizing the risks of outdated encryption, we enabled support only for TLS 1.2 and disabled outdated TLS 1.0 and 1.1, thus elevating data defense. Through rigorous HTTP header security measures and robust safeguards against user enumeration, we sealed every potential entry point against unauthorized access.
To add a critical layer of authentication security, we set up a reverse proxy for Keycloak, tightening who could access what. We also automated log file cleanup with CloudWatch, clearing the clutter and keeping the backend pristine.
These fixes were carefully designed to turn the platform into a well-oiled machine. Using Cloudflare, we further optimized the system’s speed and security. With Docker and Kubernetes, we ensured consistent containerized deployments. AWS RDS kept the database stable, while Jenkins helped us automate the CI/CD pipeline, delivering error-free releases quickly.
The final product is nothing short of a system - fortified with a security shield built to withstand any storm, reflecting Capital Numbers’ unrivaled DevOps expertise. Once strained under pressure, this reimagined credentialing app is ready to tackle substantial traffic surges head-on.
