CASE STUDY
This doctor’s consultation app makes it super easy for patients to book video/audio appointments with doctors worldwide. Patients can consult doctors for themselves or their loved ones right from the comfort of their homes. Doctors can register themselves in this portal to talk to their patients via phone/video and attend to their needs in minutes.
The goal of this project was to connect patients and doctors over digital channels so that patients don’t have to step outside their homes for consultations or queue up outside clinics.
To accomplish this, we had to embed best-in-class video and audio call APIs in the app. We had to make sure that there are no lags or latencies during calls.
Plus, we needed to add multiple online payment gateways to help doctors across the globe subscribe, get profiled, and offer their services. We had to simplify transactions in major markets and, in specific, smaller regions of Africa.
All this had to be done within a short timeline. So, it was essential to develop a good teleconferencing solution and get this product to market without delay.
Our experts used the following technologies to develop the portal:
For the backend, we chose Node.js because it is perfect for developing scalable, real-time apps. Plus, it simplifies testing, ensuring quicker releases.
To develop a dynamic and rich frontend, we picked React.js.
To improve connectivity, we added Twilio’s video and voice APIs that ensure smooth calls.
As for the database solution, MongoDB was our immediate choice because it is reliable and provides ad-hoc query support whenever required.
We added both Stripe and PayPal to secure in-app payments in all major countries. We also added Orange Money wallet to enable smooth e-transfers in African markets.
Finally, we hosted the portal in AWS EC2, which offers a sizable computing capacity to support any virtual workload.
We specifically worked on high-quality, low-latency communication to build interactive audio/video experiences. Our engineers took advantage of the Waterfall method to execute processes phase-wise.
Capital Numbers contributed in areas such as:
We custom-designed each user panel to improve better accessibility and control. The panels include:
We embedded Twilio Video and Voice SDKs to enable immersive, glitch-free audio/video calls for consultations.
Our quick search feature helps patients find doctors by specialty and get the proper assistance when needed.
We added provisions for uploading/sharing medical documents in PDFs to keep away huge paper trails.
We simplified the appointment booking process by adding a calendar that sends reminders on scheduled appointments 10 minutes before the event to prevent no-shows.
Besides the above, we enabled multilingual capabilities to help users access the website in English and French.
Capital Numbers planned, developed, and deployed each of the above with utmost efficiency and skill.
The final product is a high-quality doctor consultation app optimized for live calls on videos and phones across geographies.
We fully leveraged latency engineering to enable smooth and consistent calls without jitters or lags.
Currently, our dynamic pricing invites multiple subscriptions from doctors worldwide and helps the super admin maximize his revenues.
Moreover, Capital Numbers’ secure hosting solution lets users have peace of mind knowing that their healthcare data is in safe hands.
Capital Numbers brought forth the winning mix of deep technical know-how and operational excellence to develop this solution from scratch. We’re proud of our vetted engineers for rapidly digitizing this healthcare solution using low-risk processes.
Just like in a doctor's office, this telemedicine video conferencing solution keeps online consultations confidential and private. It helps patients:
