Lounge chairs, gym, playrooms, free lunches, onsite laundry\u00a0etc might keep people entertained, but only temporarily. People ultimately get bored of them.<\/p>\n<p>What attracts candidates and sustains employee loyalty is the energy and atmosphere of a company.\u00a0The experiences shared during work are what sustain a healthy work culture.<\/p>\n<p>So how do you start building a great culture at your organization?<\/p>\n<p>In his book <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Work-Rules-Insights-Inside-Transform\/dp\/1455554790?ie=UTF8&amp;*Version*=1&amp;*entries*=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Work Rules<\/a>, Lazlo Bock (Google\u2019s Head of People Operations) laid a blueprint for\u00a0attracting the most spectacular talent to your business. He was of the belief that a vibrant work culture\u00a0consists of the three blocks:<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Mission<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>What is your organizations mission? It\u2019s not about profits in the next fiscal year or the next product\u00a0plans. Business goals are achievable. What after that? What keeps people interested in continuing to\u00a0work?<\/p>\n<p>You need to provide them with a statement of purpose. Your mission can have no end. It comes from the fear that not all people can maintain a certain level of\u00a0confidentiality.<\/p>\n<p>But maybe if we could take a leap of faith and just trust them to have good judgement, it gives a lot of\u00a0boost to the employees loyalty, and reduces redundancy or miss communication amongst teams.<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Voice<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Encouraging the employees to have their individual voice is of paramount importance. It is directly\u00a0related to how transparent you are with your employees. Making them aware of exactly what they are\u00a0dealing with, you gave them a sense of ownership in the company that makes them want to give it\u00a0their best and make it better by helping in their own way.<\/p>\n<p>Always remember, an employee works best when s\/he is working with you and not for you.\u00a0Working on these blocks is neither easy, nor same for every organization.
